Six years after closing the door on one of his most loved projects, Irrelevant has surprised fans with the announcement of Vague Memories 5, coming soon on Absolute Loss.
The Vague Memories series has always held a special place in Irrelevant’s discography; deep, immersive works that sit at the intersection of ambient, downtempo, and emotive IDM. Each instalment has acted like a snapshot in time: hazy, intimate, and rich with the feeling of half-remembered moments.
After releasing Vague Memories 4 in 2019, Irrelevant believed the story had reached its natural conclusion. But in early 2025, new material began to form that echoed those familiar sonic themes, ultimately pulling him back into the world he thought he’d left behind.
The result is Vague Memories 5: a spacious, luminous record shaped by reflection and distance. Fans can expect the signature Irrelevant touch-lush textures, weightless rhythms, and emotional resonance-refined with the maturity of an artist who has lived with the project for over a decade.
The album represents not just a return, but a continuation. A gentle extension of a narrative that has never really faded.
More details, including previews, and pre-order links, will be shared shortly. For now, listeners can enjoy the quiet anticipation of a series many thought had reached its end-now gracefully opening a new chapter.
Vague Memories 5 will be release on digital and limited edition cassette on Christmas Eve 2025 only on Absolute Loss.
