Analogue Solutions Rebuilds Roland's Rare System 700 as the Series 700

The company says it rebuilt the circuits from the original schematics, swapping parts only where the originals can no longer be sourced.

The system is split into six blocks: a main synth section, a VCO expansion, an analog sequencer, a filter and VCA unit, an interface and mixer, and an effects section. Buyers can order the full system or pick individual blocks and grow it over time, though loose modules are not sold on their own. Custom knobs, slider caps and specially sourced switches and pots help it match the look of the original.

There is one modern concession, a simple single-channel MIDI to CV converter, mainly there to sync the analog sequencer to current gear. A keyboard based on the Roland 701 is also in development, with four channels of polyphonic CV, MIDI in and out, and velocity CV, but whether it arrives depends on demand. Pricing was not listed in the announcement. The Series 700 is in production and orders are open via the Analogue Solutions website.
