Malta Gets a New Industry Summit Aimed at Music's Business Side

Music Summit Malta runs October 7-10 at the Hard Rock Hotel in St Julian's, organised by Aidan Somers, founder of the AISO Academy. Somers has described the aim as building something smaller and more useful than a typical trade show, saying the summit "grew out of what we've been building through AISO Academy" and was designed to feel "small enough that people can actually talk to each other, rather than just move between panels."

The four-day program caps attendance at around 150 people and splits its 45 speakers across four themes, investment and capital, ecosystem and policy, AI and technology, and media and industry. Detroit techno figure Kenny Larkin, Italian-Canadian producer John Acquaviva, and electronic producer Robert Babicz are among the confirmed speakers, alongside Malta-based names including Jeanine Rodgers Scerri, Kevin Ellul, and Human Safari. Evenings are given over to live DJ sets across all four nights.

Partner organizations backing the summit include Music Tech Europe, Ten87 Studios, SheSaidSo, MEIA, and several venture and equity firms, suggesting an event pitched as much at people funding the industry as making records in it.

General admission runs 179 euros, with single-day passes at 97 euros, early bird pricing closed September 14, so anyone planning to attend now will be paying full price.
