Paris' Silencio Is Taking Over Berlin's Shuttered Watergate for Six Months

The pop-up runs for six months, opening October 30 and continuing through May 2027, and marks Silencio's own fifteenth anniversary.

True to Silencio's usual approach, the space will mix music with visual art and performance rather than functioning as a straightforward club night. A preview event on September 9 gave an early sense of the booking, with sets from Richie Hawtin and Ben Klock alongside performances by BASHKKA and Valentina Magaletti. The room itself has been reworked by architect Marc Leschelier and Studio Karhard, with lighting from Studio Raito and visual identity work from Bureau Borsche.

Silencio founder Arnaud Frisch framed the anniversary as a chance to look back and push forward at once, noting that fifteen years in, it felt like the right moment to reinvent the project rather than simply mark it. Silencio has run similar temporary spaces before, in New York and Venice and around festivals like Cannes and Art Basel Miami, but reviving a venue with Watergate's history gives this one a different weight.
