The LXR-02 is a digital drum synth with six voices, seven sequencer tracks and an 808 style layout. It follows on from the original LXR, a DIY kit from Sonic Potions released around eight years ago, and was developed together with that team. Street pricing sits around $498 in the US, with European prices a little higher.
There is a catch worth knowing about. Erica Synths will only support its official firmware, and anyone who modifies their unit does so at their own risk. The license was not specified in the announcement, so anyone planning to reuse or redistribute the code should check the repository first. For a drum machine with a loyal DIY following, the move should make custom voices, sequencer tweaks and community builds far easier.
