Eerie Enterprise - Places Remember Events

Eerie Enterprise - Places Remember Events
Angular, nostalgic electronica from two producers who sound like a third thing neither could be alone.

There’s something immediately strange about the name. Eerie Enterprise sounds like a joke that knows when to stop laughing, the kind of project name that signals both playfulness and intent. It fits the album well. Places Remember Events is the debut record from Thessa Torsing (upsammy) and Luca Mucci (Piezo), two producers whose solo trajectories, Torsing’s 2020 Zoom on Dekmantel and Mucci’s years across Idle Hands, Nervous Horizon and Swamp 81, suggest a natural sympathy without making the collaboration feel inevitable.

The album grew from two days of hardware-focused studio sessions in July 2024, then was refined over the following year and a half. That backstory matters less than you’d think. There’s nothing rawly improvisational about the result. These nine tracks are considered and tidied to a finish. What the sessions seem to have given them is shared permission, a set of textures and temperaments to work from rather than constraints to escape.

What you get is angular, melodic electronica that resists the pull toward either pure dancefloor function or ambient passivity. Busy, twitchy rhythms drop into half-time space. Melodies surface with a quality that’s almost fragile, nearly nostalgic, never quite resolved. Titles like Decay + Collapse, Folding Origin and Brine Pool lean into geological and physical-process imagery, which suits the music. This is sound that behaves like matter, accumulating and subsiding rather than simply progressing from A to B. Things Fall Upwards and Superradiance gesture toward something stranger and deliver on it. Closer Woe (Betide) earns its parenthetical weight.

Both artists made collaborative records elsewhere this year, Torsing’s Seismo with Valentina Magaletti on PAN, Mucci’s Bborn Again as part of PPP on Wisdom Teeth, and there’s a sense that 2026 has been a year for working in close quarters. Places Remember Events is the most complete of those efforts. The duo’s voices are genuinely blended rather than alternating, and the result is a record that sounds like a third entity neither would have made alone.

The press text says it aims “to soothe rather than shock.” That’s slightly underselling it. This is music with edges. They’re just polished.
