Irrelevant Returns with New LP Dead Relatives

Clocking in at just over 45 minutes, Dead Relatives is a raw and deeply personal body of work — a reflection of grief, memory, and the invisible weight of absence. Written in the months following the loss of a close family member, the album trades in atmosphere and emotion, drifting through ambient spaces and fogged-over dream sequences with a quiet, lingering intensity.

Long respected for his contributions to the future garage scene, Irrelevant continues to evolve his sonic palette here, leaning fully into the realms of dreampunk and ambient drone. The result is a record that feels submerged and introspective — like walking through familiar streets in a city that no longer feels like home.

The album features two striking collaborations. On The Heads That Know, Irrelevant teams up with Sangam to create a piece that feels both nostalgic and otherworldly, while Gordon Strange joins for Exo-Æon, a slow-burning track that resonates like a distant signal from another timeline.
