About Astasu

I'm a person who's always felt the need to compose. I discovered I had a knack for picking up a tune at an early age while playing along to the music from the game Golden Axe on a cheap Yamaha synthesiser, and that progressed to learning guitar shortly afterwards, which I still play often.

While heavy and extreme metal was, and remains, one of my favorite genres, my earliest compositions were mainly dance music, moving into faster and darker styles over the years.

Eventually I started to experiment with different textures and sounds, and decided to largely forgo the familiar 4/4 beat in favour of soundscapes and ambient scores. Having fun with various virtual and physical synthesisers and messing around with different approaches to composing gave room for ASTASU to emerge.
